First Challenge of the Year

Since last year I've been running to keep fit and build stamina and this has taken over from doing any training walks.

Last weekend that training bore fruit for the first time this year when I took part in the Lancaster 3 Bridges 10k. This was the first competitive running race I'd taken part in since school.

I finished 42nd in a time of 40:31 (unofficially I was 5 seconds quicker than this!). I was happy with the position (top 50) but not so happy about the time (aiming for under 40 minutes).

Now obviously running 10k isn't perfect preparation but it is step in the right direction.
